service before self

Making life More Affordable
Dave supported a new state law that eliminated the state tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security income (PA 24 of 2025). He has voted to repeal the state property tax (HBs 5872-5879), sponsored a bill to reduce the Michigan income tax (HB 6225), and helped block hundreds of millions of dollars in proposed new taxes and fees cutting nearly $2 billion in waste, fraud and abuse from state government.
Fighting for your rights and freedoms
Dave has been holding the line against the woke agenda being pushed in Lansing, advocating for normal American values, for parents’ rights, data privacy, law and order, cheap reliable energy—and letting people live their lives as they see fit.
Advocating for privacy rights
David introduced legislation to protect private property rights by requiring a warrant for state regulators and law enforcement to come on your private property if no emergency circumstances are present (HB 6128). He also cosponsored legislation to limit license plate camera data retention by law enforcement (HB 5592, 93)
State Officials Ethics Law
Dave new ethics law stops former state officials from cashing in on lobbying.
Whether someone is elected or appointed, their focus should be on serving taxpayers and the people of Michigan. These reforms help strengthen public trust and ensure public officials are focused on their responsibilities, and not their next job.
Advocating for our students
Dave has voted to follow through on the promise for equal funding for our classrooms and school districts (Public Act 48 of 2021). He also voted to preserve funding for breakfast and lunch for Michigan students (FY ‘26-’27 budget), and supported a $40 million investment to expand dual enrollment (FY 2026-27 budget)
As a leading voice in the Legislature on skilled trades, Dave had a bill signed into law to ensure high school students are informed of the numerous career options available right here in Michigan (HB 4953 of 2022).
